Obituary: Lucas Viscomi, 19, Lifelong Little Silver Resident

Viscomi died on Tuesday after a long battle with a rare genetic disease.

Lucas S. Viscomi, 19, Little Silver, died Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at home, surrounded by his loving family and caring nurses. He was born in Red Bank and lived all his life in Little Silver. He attended Ladacin Network/Shroth School in Wanamassa where he had many friends and was lovingly cared for. Lucas courageously battled a rare genetic disease Metachromatic Leukodystrophy

for more than 10 years with much laughter and tremendous will. The medical community learned so much from Lucas's life in dealing with all the life threatening issues this disease dealt him. The family received unconditional love and support over all these years from family, friends and community.

Lucas was predeceased by his grandparents, Frank and Lillian Viscomi. He is survived by his parents, David and Samantha of Little Silver; his sister, Abby of Little Silver; and his grandparents, Barry and Pamela Sinclair of Lakewood. Also, his Aunt Kathy and her husband Calvin, Kissimme, FL, Uncle Frank Viscomi, Northampton, PA, Uncle Russell Viscomi, Phillipsburg, NJ and Uncle Russell Sinclair and his wife Nena, New York City. His cousins, Sebastin, Sophia, Wendy, Stephanie, Alicia, Justin, Justine, Jeffrey, Lindsey, Zachary, Amelia, Logan and Vincent.

Bloomfiled-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Ocean Township is in charge of arrangements that will be held at Monmouth Reform Temple, Tinton Falls, NJ at noon Friday, May 24.
