Obituary: Eric Langille, of Rumson

Investment banker; father of four

Eric Charles Langille, of Rumson, died suddenly at his Rumson home on Sunday, Feb. 17.

Son of Edward Leo and Priscilla Langille, Eric was born in Northhampton, MA. A New England native, he graduated from Wesleyan University, CT, in 1982, with a bachelor's degree and then earned his M.B.A. New York University 1983 and went on to a career in investment banking.

After marrying Jeanne Clark in 1987, he settled and raised his family, including sons Oliver, Clark and Bryce and daughter Olya, in Rumson. There he was known as an active sports parent and supporter of charities, such as Cradle of Hope and the Diamond Club.

In addition to being survived by his wife of 25 years, Eric is also survived by: brothers Kurt Langille, of Wilbraham, MA, and Karl Langille of Frisco, TX; sister Amy Langille Kennedy of North Hampton, NH; mother-in-law Marion Clark and several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Eric's memorial will be held on Friday, Feb. 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. with a Celebration of Life Service at 7:30 p.m. at the Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad Street, Red Bank.

According to the Thompson Memorial Home Web site, "in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Eric's name to The Jimmy Fund, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th floor, Brookline, MA 02445."
