Long Branch Resident, Korean War Veteran, Passes Away

Nicholas J. Marino, Jr., was 83 when he died.

The following is an obituary from Damiano Funeral Home in Long Branch:

Nicholas J. Marino, Jr., age 83 of Long Branch died peacefully on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch. Born in New York, he had lived in Manhattan before moving to Long Branch 3 years ago. Nick was a retired retail buyer and served his country honorably in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the NY Athletic Club and enjoyed taking cruises and traveling the world. 

Surviving are his cousins, Evelyn Borgia; Edwin and Annette Borgia; his 2nd cousins, Thomas E. Borgia and William R. and Kim Borgia, his 3rd cousins, Thomas, Nicholas, Jacob and Luke Borgia.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate his Funeral Mass on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at 9 am at St. Jerome R.C. Church, 254 Wall Street, West Long Branch. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Woodland, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the American Parkinson Foundation.
