Devoted Wife, Mother Dies at 88

Visitation for Anne Medaglia will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at John E. Day Funeral Home in Red Bank.

Anne Medaglia, of Oceanport, formerly of Wall Township and East Brunswick, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Sunday.

Anne was born in Brooklyn, NY to Antonino and Antonina (Sciortino) Ribando. Anne met her future husband in 1941 and they married in 1946 after his return from WWII where he served in Europe. They began their life together in the Bronx where their three children were born. She was an avid reader and scrabble player who could complete the NY Times crossword puzzle in ink! Anne was an amazing cook who brought the family together for so many wonderful occasions. But, most importantly, she was a devoted wife to her husband of 67 years and a wonderful mother and grandmother. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. 

Anne was predeceased by her parents and her only brother, Peter. 

She is survived by her beloved husband, Frank, son, Eugene Peter and wife Nancy of Edison, daughters; Mary Noorigian and husband Kenneth of San Diego, CA and Grace Anne Becker and husband Douglas of Monmouth Beach, grandchildren; Nicole Suzanne Churchill and husband Peter, Christina Marie Noorigian, Daniel Francis and Katherine Theresa Medaglia, Sarah Anne Byrnes and husband Christopher, Andrew Benjamin and Alexander Douglas Becker, great-grandchildren, Sophia Anne and Charles Anthony Churchill and several nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 6 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Ave. Red Bank. A funeral home service will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 7 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Spring Lake. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Anne’s memory to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, Church Street Station, PO Box 780, New York, NY 10008.
