Monmouth Park Miniature Golf Set to Open Sept. 29

Two new 18-hole miniature golf courses at Monmouth Park will open on Saturday.

After months of building, and many more of planning, Bluegrass Miniature Golf, located at Monmouth Park Racetrack, is set to open on Saturday, Sept. 29.

"We were determined to get it up and running before the end of the racing season," said John Forbes, president of the New Jersey Thoroughbred Horsemen, who oversaw the entire project. "While I don't want to call it a soft opening, we're certainly going to use this opportunity to thoroughly examine the courses, iron out any kinks, and improve upon what we already have for a grand opening next Spring."

With two 18-hole courses, mini golf enthusiasts can choose between the "Monmouth Course" and the "Triple Crown Course", each complete with its own unique horse racing theme.

"We're really excited to bring more family entertainment to the racetrack and the Jersey Shore," Forbes said. "Both courses are completely ADA compliable and are lighted for nighttime acion. Three fountains carry water obstacles throughout the playing area , along with some other twists and turns that should prove very popular."

Located at the north end of the Monmouth Park property, Bluegrass Miniature Golf will be open seven days a week, weather permitting, through October 31. Monday through Friday the courses will be open from noon to 8 p.m., while on Saturday and Sunday the hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. The cost is $8 per round of 18 holes or $12 for 36 holes. Children six through 12 play for half-price, while under six are free.
