Meridian Health Named 2013 Most Wired for 14th Year Consecutive Year

Meridian Health was recently named to the 2013 Most Wired Survey for the 14th year in a row; an honor that Meridian has received more times than any other existing health system in the state of New Jersey.

The Most Wired Award is sponsored by the Hospitals and Health Networks, and is designed to measure the level of degree in which American health systems have integrated an efficient, and cost effective, IT program. The recipients of such an award are those hospitals that have successfully incorporated innovative technological measures. By doing so, the hospital is able to not only greatly diminish the potential for error, but also reduce patients’ average length of stay (ALOS), and provide caregivers with the most efficient means necessary to alleviate patients’ suffering.

IT remains a crucial indicator of a hospitals’ success, as capacities such as organization, modernization, and efficiency remain impossible without it. “Information technology is an essential ingredient in our efforts to continuously improve patient care and safety” said Rebecca Weber, senior vice president and chief information officer, Meridian Health.   “Being recognized as a Most Wired Health System acknowledges the efforts of our physicians, nurses, clinicians, and team members at Meridian who continuously strive to give our patents the best possible care. Having received this award for 14 years is a reflection on the Meridian’s commitment to make the necessary investments to be at the leading edge of Healthcare technology and care delivery.”
