Open Letter from the Little Silver PTO Regarding Hurricane Sandy

Little Silver PTO announces Hurricane Sandy relief effort.

Dear Parents, Teachers and Staff of Little Silver Schools:

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this most difficult Hurricane Sandy recovery period.

The spirit of community has never been more evident as in this past week when we have come together to fight through this disaster. We have seen it in the volunteers who doled out supplies at Markham Place School, we have seen it in our teachers purchasing supplies for our children, we have seen it in our neighbors opening their cold, dark homes to those who have lost more than just electricity.

We, the PTO, are humbled and honored to be a part of this caring "family" we call the Borough of Little Silver.

To that end, we are pleased to announce the initiative that we have put together to contribute to the rebuilding of our community. It's called Warrior POWERED! and it will be in effect now until the end of this school year.

Warrior POWERED!  is an online community bulletin board which will consist of two sections: GET HELP and GIVE HELP. If you are in need of assistance, you can post "wish list" items. Similarly, if you're in a position to offer assistance, you can post available "goods and services." Simply provide us with a brief description and we will upload it onto the board. All posts will be listed anonymously and will be tracked and handled as such to the extent possible.

To post in the GET HELP or GIVE HELP sections on the Warrior POWERED! bulletin board, send an email to warriorpowered@gmail.com

The bulletin board will be listed on the PTO Web site: www.littlesilverpto.org

Warrior POWERED! is a program that we have designed to bend and twist along with the needs of our community. We are always open to suggestions, so feel free to send us your feedback at any time!

With sincerest best wishes to all,

The PTO Executive Board

Claire Harbeck Izzo, Co-President
Phyllis Sauer, Co-President
