The Lights Are Shining Bright For the RBR Field [PHOTOS]

The Let There Be Lights event well exceeded its goal to raise $50,000 for the initiative.

Last Friday night, supporters of the Let There Be Lights fundraiser came out to help fund this important community initiative.  Chris and Linda Smith opened their home to host the event with an evening filled with gourmet fare and great live music.

Supporters from all three sending districts - Little Silver, Shrewsbury and Red Bank - attended the event, as well as RBR Coaches including Varsity Football Head Coach Nick Giglio, Boys Varsity Basketball Coach Scott Martin and Girls Varsity Basketball Coach James Young.  The RBR Athletic Director, Del Dal Pra spoke about the significant impact the lights would have on the student body in creating a sense of spirit, pride and community. Del added “We have a vision for our school and adding lights to the athletic field is an important step."

The Let There Be Lights event well exceeded its goal to raise $50,000 for the initiative. The Buccaneer Athletic Foundation President Cathy Reardon said, “The event tonight helped raise the additional funds to get us to first and goal on the lights initiative. We are close to a touchdown for this project which couldn’t have been achieved without all the incredible support from our community businesses and families”.  She said she looks forward to being able to light up the night at the RBR field in 2013.
