Everyone knows that when you put your house on the market you need to de-clutter, put away personal items, plant flowers, clean up the yard, closets, etc. However there are a couple of other things you should pay attention to, that are often overlooked but are just as important!

  • Have your house power-washed and your windows cleaned. It give a squeaky clean appearance and a great first impression
  • Invest in Staging. I’ve found this to be an invaluable tool for sellers and I truly believe it helps sell homes faster and for more money! Staging gives buyers a feeling that they could live there and emotion is what sells houses.
  • Open the shades and make sure all of the bulbs in your house work and that every single light is turned on! A bright house is a happy house .
  • Fix caulk and grout. It freshens up bathrooms and kitchens
  • Fill out an accurate seller’s disclosure with as much information as possible. It show buyers that you have been on top of the maintenance of your home and haven’t let things slide.
  • Don’t be home (if possible) when buyers come through your house! It makes them feel rushed and uncomfortable. You want people to relax and picture themselves living there.
