Top Three JLMC Memories

“Reflecting back on the JLMC for its 75th anniversary year, my top three memories are: When I moved here from Michigan, I went to a casino night at JLMC Headquarters and couldn't believe how nice people were!  My second memory was when I went to Trinity Church for Saturday Soup - I was so impressed with the women in our League and how they step up!  The last memory I have is going to Manna House and how we have helped them and how gracious those ladies were to us.”

Chairperson, Canterbury Fair at St. George’s by-the-River

The JLMC hosts a number of community events each year. For over 20 years the JLMC has partnered with Saturday Soup, a soup kitchen held at the Trinity Church in Asbury Park.  This past November, 277 individuals (and 78 children) were provided a full Thanksgiving Dinner with all the trimmings thanks to the efforts of JLMC volunteers and the support of local businesses. JLMC past programming has also provided workshops at Manna House, a transitional housing program for women and children who would otherwise be homeless. This year, JLMC is focusing its efforts on empowering young girls to become confident women and successfully completed the first JLMC Girls’ on the Run 5K.
