In This Short Film, Monmouth County History Comes Alive

The film was made to promote the Traveling Trunk educational programs, sponsored by the Monmouth County Historical Association.

A new two-minute film has been produced to call attention to The Monmouth County Historical Association's new educational "Traveling Trunk" programs for classrooms, schools or groups.

In the film, we see young Julian Sarin travel back in time to emerge out of a steamer trunk at the Monmouth Battlefield (where he notes George Washington would have scored 10,000 likes on his Facebook page after the Battle of Monmouth), then a one-room schoolhouse in Colts Neck, and later the Holmes Hendrickson House in Holmdel where he explains the meaning behind "Pop Goes the Weasel" as a Colonial woman spins wool in the background.

The film was produced, directed and shot by award-winning photographer and editor Pim Van Hemmen and includes appearances and input from local Historical Association members.
