Pine Lake Park Garage Sale Set for Sept. 15 and 16

Applications available for annual neighborhood-wide garage sale

Residents of Manchester's Pine Lake Park section are invited to join in on the neighborhood garage sale, which will be held on Sept. 15 and 16.

Those who would like to participate in the sale, which is run by the Pine Lake Park Taxpayers Improvement Association, can send a completed application and $12 to the group, according to president Grace Peck. The application is available on the association's website

Applications are also available at the Lucky 7 Deli on the corner of Commonwealth Boulevard and Route 37 and on the corner of 10th Avenue and Route 571.

Maps of participating homes will be available on the days of the sale at Emilio's Pizza, Lucky 7 Deli and in the Pine lake Park Clubhouse mailbox. Yellow smiley face balloons will be distributed to participating homes.

"Proceeds go to the continuing efforts to restore and preserve this historic piece of our community," Peck said.

I think this is pathetic...the cost used to be a fair $5.00....$12.00 is a little much...now that the town has notified everybody, people may as well just post their own balloons and signs...why should anyone pay...thats ridiculous...i used to do craft fairs for $25.00 a table, I get notifications that same table is being charged $70.00...are you people kidding me...

Jo Jo, You are correct in that the first garage sale PLP Clubhouse sponsored was indeed $5. Costs to run The Community Wide Garage Sale have gone up tremendously, therefore our price has too. We have tried to do our best to keep cost's at a minimum and work very hard at doing so. Signage, cost of printing maps, balloons, newspaper adds ect are just some of the cost's involved in putting on a community wide event such as this. If you do choose to participate and not register, your home would not be placed on the map nor would you have a special balloon for the event. The choice is yours. Our township has a fee of $25 per sign you post, with an application and permit to be issued to do so. You run the risk of getting a fine should you post signs without said permit. The sale benefits the community club house's restoration and preservation efforts. Without fundraisers such as these the building would not be around much longer for the community to enjoy. We are the ONLY non senior community that has such a wonderful historic gem. Please get in touch with me if you would like to participate and I will be glad to cover the cost for your application. I can be reached at 732-505-0074 at any time. With warm regards, Grace Peck/President Pine Lake Park Taxpayers Imporovement Association "The Clubhouse"
