Art students painted Halloween-themed murals on the windows of downtown Little Silver businesses on Thursday afternoon.

Downtown Little Silver received a Halloween-themed makeover courtesy of students from Markham Place School.

A group of 53 eighth graders painted murals depicting pumpkins, black cats and even some of their favorite cartoon and video game characters dressed in Halloween costumes on the windows of several Little Silver businesses.

Some of the businesses included Grandma's Bagels, Little Szechuan Restaurant and The Turning Point on Prospect Avenue.

Markham Place art teacher Nicole Lawlor said this is the 30th year the students have participated in the window painting project.
