The annual tradition of Little Silver battling Shrewsbury on the gridiron will continue this year with the White Road Cup.

The annual charitable football game raises funds and awareness for Lunch Break in Red Bank.

The game will feature Little Silver residents taking on Shrewsbury residents on Friday, Nov. 29 at 12:30 p.m. at Red Bank Regional.

Each player participating will has donated $20 to Lunch Break representatives to help feed the less fortunate during the holidays.

The winner of this year's game will receive the White Cup and the results are engraved on the trophy's brass plate circulating its walnut wooden base. Shrewsbury leads the series 9-2.

Following the game, The Downtown in Red Bank will host "The Post-Game Celebration Party” comprising of drink specials and a performance by DaddyPop starting at 8 p.m. Residents and non-resident alike are encouraged to come to the party.

"Growing up in the two respective Boroughs you grow to love each other through many shared experiences such as the annual battle for who owns The White Road Cup," Event Coordinator Rick Brandt said. "Just like White Road itself, geographically connecting Little Silver and Shrewsbury, The White Road Cup unites the residents of both towns through a bonding experience."
