Holmdel-Hope for Children Foundation (HFCF) of New Jersey is holding its Seventh Annual Gala on September 1 at the Ocean Place Spa and Resort in Long Branch. HFCF’s “End of Summer Beach Party” will continue the tradition of delivering a first-class fundraising event while serving as the primary vehicle to further HFCF’s mission of helping area children and their families in times of need.

In a twist from its usual black-tie affair, HFCF’s 2011 Gala will be an End of Summer Beach Party. The four-hour event will feature a clam bake, cocktail hour, live music by Brian Kirk and the Jirks, a beach bonfire and fireworks display. There will also be hundreds of prizes to be raffled and auctioned off at the event.

A portion of the proceeds from this year’s event will be dedicated to HFCF’s 2011 honoree, Seth Grumet, founder of Stomp the Monster. Grumet was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma on May 18, 2010. Upon learning of her father’s condition, Grumet’s 10-year old daughter Maddy said, “Dad, your Cancer is the Monster under the floorboard… You just need to STOMP IT OUT!”

Maddy’s courage and determination inspired Grumet to found Stomp the Monster, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing financial support and services to cancer patients, their families and care-givers in the tri-state area. In less than a year while battling cancer, Grumet has managed to raise a substantial amount of money and provide incredible support for others who suffer from cancer. HFCF is proud to help Stomp the Monster further its mission and salutes the unbelievable courage and compassion of Seth Grumet. “One of the great parts in being involved with charity work is that you get the opportunity to meet truly inspirational people along the way like Seth Grumet,” said Marybeth Walz, co-founder of HFCF. “We are proud to honor Seth’s resolve and determination in battling against cancer and we are glad to be partners with him in helping cancer patients and those who love them “stomp the monster” once and for all.”

Tickets for HFCF’s End of Summer Beach Party are $125 per and can be purchased by logging onto http://www.hfcf.org.
