A woman suffered significant blood loss after she was allegedly stabbed more than a dozen times in the back and other parts of her body by a man at Bed Bath & Beyond around 4 p.m. today. (More)

2. Seastreak Crash Sends Little Silver Woman to Hospital

Lauren Dwyer-Mihlon of Little Silver says that Wednesday was just like any other day of the work week as she rode the 8 a.m. Seastreak ferry out of Highlands, much as she has for the last two years.

As her commuter ferry neared Pier 11 in Downtown Manhattan, she began to move to the front of the boat as usual to have quick access to the exit and, hopefully, a cab to take her to her office in Midtown.

Dwyer-Mihlon was standing near the boat's bow still inside around 8:50 a.m. when she says she remembers turning her head and noticing the approaching dock before she was tumbled into a row of nearby seats and was quickly covered by fellow passengers who fell on top of her. (More)

4. 19-Year-Old Becomes RBR's Newest BOE Member

A 19-year-old Red Bank resident joined two returning members Wednesday night to be sworn in as members of the Red Bank Regional Board of Education.

Patrick Noble, who ran as the "socialist candidate" in November, took the oath for a three-year-term along with Michael N. Megill of Little Silver and Randy Mendelson of Shrewsbury. (More)

5. Little Silver Waterfront Property Owners Dispute Revaluation [VIDEO]

The timing of Little Silver's revaluation, couldn't have been worse.

Not only were the town-wide reappraisals coming on the tail end of a housing slump and a decade after the last revaluation, but the benchmark date used to evaluate properties was set at Oct. 1, just a month before Hurricane Sandy came and changed everything.

"There's no precedence for this," Mayor Robert C. Neff, Jr. told the approximately 75 residents gathered to show their opposition to property appraisals received last month. (More)

A man has been struck and killed by a train near Branchport Avenue in Long Branch on Monday afternoon.

Long Branch Police Capt. Jason Roebuck said it "appears to be a suicide," but that NJ Transit should be handling the investigation because it occurred on their property. (More)

A Keyport woman was arrested Tuesday for allegedly assaulting Oceanport Police officers, according to court documents.

Katrina D. Veney, 23, 244 Orchard St., Keyport, faces two counts of aggravated assault following a Jan. 15 incident in Oceanport in which she allegedly injured two officers who were trying to place her under arrest. (More)
