Group Hopes to Create New Image for Downtown Eatontown

Eatontown- The Pride in Eatontown Committee is looking to improve the aesthetics and traffic flow of downtown Eatontown and also help preserve the history of the area.

The committee is looking to secure a transportation enhancement grant that would fund the project and is looking to get support from local groups to assist in the process.

Missing LBI Jet-Skiers Found Safe After Search

Long Beach Island- The U.S. Coast Guard located two jet skiers Monday in the bay off Long Beach Island after they were reported overdue late Sunday.

A boat crew from Coast Guard Station Barnegat Light heard a whistle near an island while searching Barnegat Bay, which led them to a father and son who had been reported overdue.

Owners of Jersey Shore Psychic Arrested on Counterfeit Charges

Ocean City- The owners of , a Boardwalk shop which not only offers palm and energy readings, but also t-shirts and other wares, were arrested and charged with possession of counterfeit products following a police raid on Wednesday, according to Capt. Steven Ang of the Ocean City Police Department.

Bobbie Mitchell, 50, of Somers Point and June Mitchell, 31, of Somers Point, were both charged with the possession of over 25 counterfeit products, a police press release said.

Toms River- There is a pilot program launching in Ocean County to distribute a limited number of the apps free of charge. As the battle to curtail texting and driving rages on, law enforcement officials continue to look for ways to discourage drivers from taking the risk. 

A cell phone application that disables the phone when a vehicle is traveling over a certain rate of speed may be the answer police departments have sought.

Point Beach Council Turns Down Snooki and JWoww

Point Beach- The Point Beach Council agreed unanimously on Tuesday night to not allow MTV to film the "Snooki and Jwoww" reality show on public property in town.

Through the brief discussion about  Mayor Vincent Barrella said perhaps the council should think about charging for film permits.

Farmingdale Turns to Governor's Office Following Resignations

Farmingdale- A planned meeting of the Farmingdale Borough Council was cancelled last night following the resignations of several of the members.

According to a report in the Tri-Town News, several members of the council resigned earlier this summer with more members submitting their resignation prior to Tuesday's meeting. The report said the borough clerk and code enforcement officer had also recently resigned.
