State Wrap: Pathmark Shooting, Party Bus Accident, Christie Keynote

A 23-year-old man, described by neighbors as a recently discharged military veteran, shot and killed two co-workers before taking his own life at the Pathmark supermarket in Old Bridge early Friday morning, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Bruce Kaplan.

A 16-year-old boy from Sayreville riding on a bus full of teenagers heading to a Sweet 16 was killed Friday after he stuck his head out of a roof hatch on the bus and hit an overpass as the vehicle drove on Interstate 95 southbound, near the George Washington Bridge, an official said.

The show that made Seaside Heights famous—or, at least, infamous—is going off the air. MTV announced Thursday afternoon its hit series Jersey Shore will end after a recently taped season airs this fall.

Chris Wojcik's dream of placing a giant sculpture on the Axel Carlson Reef off Ocean County about 40 miles north of Ocean City was shattered when a support strap snapped during the lowering process and the 47-foot crab sculpture broke upon hitting bottom. The sculpture was expected to be listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the world's largest underwater sculpture.

Longtime U.S. Rep. Rob Andrews (D-NJ) may have violated federal law by misusing campaign funds for personal expenses, an investigation by a House ethics panel has found.

A pregnant Wayne woman was charged with child endangerment after police found her 8-month-old children soiled and alone inside a house, police said.

The 350-acre Wild Safari and 160-acre Six Flags Great Adventure theme park will be merged into one site to become the world's largest theme park, according to a press release from the company.
