According to the National Weather Service, a Winter Weather Advisory “means that periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.”

For the Coastal Flood Advisory, “high tide on the New Jersey and Delaware oceanfront will occur between 5:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. High tide on the back bays occurs later than it does along the oceanfront.”

“Roadway flooding is possible at the most susceptible locations.”

According to the NWS, a Coastal Flood Advisory “indicates that onshore winds and tides will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore. Do not leave your vehicle in a location that is prone to tidal flooding. Do not drive through flood waters. The water may be deeper than you think it is.”
