Oceanport OEM: Storm Could Bring Minor Coastal Flooding

Oceanport OEM Buzz Baldanza warns residents to prepare for possible power outages due to high winds and wet snow.

From Oceanport Office of Emergency Management:

Heavy snowfall is likely to affect the Friday PM commute

Our area could see 6-8 inches with a snow fall rate of 2 inches per hour late Friday around 7PM. Motorists should be off the roads early.

Wind will gust up to 40 mph inland and 55 mph in coastal areas. Combination of high winds and wet snow will produce a threat of significant power outages.

Coastal flooding threat has increased; moderate coastal flooding is now likely. Moderate to major beach erosion is expected

Friday sunrise high tide – minor coastal flooding is possible.

Friday sunset high tide – minor coastal flooding will occur.

Saturday sunrise high tide – moderate coastal flooding is likely.

High Tide at the Gooseneck Bridge Friday 8:08AM and 8:37PM, Saturday 9:01AM and 9:28 PM. Anticipate street flooding in low areas, move vehicles to higher ground to be safe. Moderate flooding is not the flooding we had with Sandy, but some homes in low areas could see water approaching.
