Memorial Day Memories in Oceanport [GALLERY]

Images from the Memorial Day parade and services held in Oceanport on Monday.

Annually, remembers the sacrifices of those who have lost their lives fighting for the United States with a Memorial Day parade and cermony in front of borough hall.

On Monday morning, many segments from the community -- scouts, Lions, the seniors' club, volunteer firefighters and borough officials -- gathered at Blackberry Bay Park and paraded to borough hall. Lots of folks lined the roads and waved while the parade went by and for their efforts, were rewarded with patriotic-colored beads and pieces of candy tossed out by those walking by. Firetrucks inched by and let loose ear-splitting blasts from their sirens.

The crowd then gathered in front of borough hall to honor the memories of U.S. Military members both past and present. Check out the gallery above for a look at patriotism, still alive and well in your hometown.
