Freeholders to Dedicate New Traffic Signal

Traffic light at intersection of Prospect and Harding to be switched on Wednesday morning.

The traffic light at the intersection of Prospect Avenue and Harding Road will become fully operational at 10 a.m. Wednesday, with members of the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders scheduled to be on hand to dedicate the new signal.

Flipping the switch will signify the culmination of a project that involved installing the new signal as well as pedestrian crossing signals, crosswalks, and widening the road at the intersection to allow dedicated left turn lanes onto Prospect Avenue.

“This project was very important to improve traffic safety in this area,” said Freeholder John P. Curley, liaison to Monmouth County Department of Public Works & Engineering in a press release issued Monday.
