  • Eatontown Mayor Gerald Tarantolo told the Atlanticville that of the 12,000 support personnel and 5,500 technical personnel who once worked at Fort Monmouth, only 2,000 remain.
  • Shore Regional junior midfielder Hannah Barreca will attend Duke University in the fall. According to APP.com, “Barreca is a two-time Asbury Park Press All-Shore first teamer and led the Blue Devils to a 17-2 record, this year’s Shore Conference Tournament title with 28 goals and 14 assists.”
  • Monmouth Boy Scouts held their annual Klondike Derby at Monmouth Park last weekend “to test their skills in a variety of challenges including a sled race, simulated ice rescue, cold weather first aid, compass work, knots, fire starting, lashing together a flag and team building memory exercises.”
