Looks like it's going to be a wet one. Our friends at the National Weather Service are calling for a 100 percent chance of rain today, with it coming down heavy at times. Expect winds to the east at 9 to 12 mph, possibly kicking up to 23 mph. The rain should subside by Thursday morning.

Little Silver Road Improvements Coming

If you live on or around Fairview Avenue, Church Lane, or Bernard Terrace in Little Silver, you'll be seeing some road upgrades soon. At the most recent meeting of the borough council, a $171,645 bid was awarded to Fernandes Construction of South River to make the improvements. No word yet on when the project will begin.

LSBPA Book Fair a Success

Congratulations to the Little Silver Business and Professional Association (LSBPA) on the success of their 3rd Annual Book Fair this past weekend! Councilman Stuart Van Winkle was happy to report the LSBPA raised over $2,200 from the event in which they resold donated books, and the group is looking for ideas on how to give the money back to the community. Port-Au-Peck Closes Thursday

At 7 a.m. Thursday, Port-Au-Peck Avenue will shut down from Myrtle Avenue to the Oceanport Avenue/East Main Street intersection, so crews can work on the NJ Transit railroad crossing. The Oceanport Police are advising that the road will be closed until Nov. 4, and for motorists to allow for extra time to follow the detour routes.
