Discounted Beach Badges Now Available

Badges will be on sale until end of January.

Looking for a last-second gift idea for your friend or family member who spends much of their summer at the beach?

The perfect gift may be awaiting you at in the form of for the 2012 summer season.

The Long Branch Council adopted an ordinance in November that lowers the price of beach badges by $5 until Jan. 31, 2012.

According to the draft ordinance, the regular price for a seasonal adult (ages 18 to 61) badge is $45. A “holiday beach pass” for an adult would cost $40. Regular-priced passes for children (ages 14 to 17) cost $30, but would be discounted to $25, the draft ordinance says. Adults 62 and older and children 13 and younger would receive free beach admission.

The discounted badges are available at the Tax Collector’s office at City Hall, 344 Broadway, or at the Recreation Office at 3 Bay Avenue. The badges can be purchased Monday-Friday from $10 a.m.- 4 p.m.
