Atlantic Golf to Get Extension for Suneagles Golf Course Contract

Fort redevelopers expect an at least six month lease extension from Army.

Atlantic Golf Management will likely get six more months added to its contract to operate the Army-owned Suneagles Golf Course.

The board of the announced Wednesday that the Army has agreed to an extension of the lease it has with the redevelopment authority for the golf course. The extension would be for a minimum of six months or until the property is conveyed to FMERA, which will in turn sell the property.

Under the terms of the lease FMERA has contracted out the management of the formerly military only golf course to a private company, in this case, Atlantic Golf, which took over operations last summer.

The golf course is now open to members of the public and rates, which were below market for military golfers, have been raised somewhat.

in Eatontown is one of which will then sell the properties to new owners. Proceeds from the sale of this and other properties will be split between the Army and FMERA. FMERA will then reinvest those proceeds back into the redevelopment of the 1,126 acre fort property which spans , Eatontown and Tinton Falls

The lease extension will also allow for the continuation of operations of the banquet facility at , currently operated by .
