5 Things You Need to Know Today in Little Silver and Oceanport: May 23

Let's ignore the rain today and dream about the sand between our toes this weekend.

Working for the Weekend: Who even cares about today's 30 percent chance of rain, or even the rain that's expected to come down tomorrow, for that matter? I picked up my beach badges earlier this week and the weekend's forecast of sunny skies and temperatures in the low 80s has me dreaming of sitting in my new beach chair and sipping a limey Corona and enjoying the late afternoon sun. Ignoring the surly teeenagers sitting alongside me wil really be more challenging than any rainy day.

Hit the Mattress: The beauty of where we live is that not only do we have the beach to go and enjoy great weather but we can also sneak over to check out all the activities over at . If you need to take a break from the sand on Sunday, consider going to war -- -- that will be converging on the racetrack. There will be lots of activities to keep the kiddies occupied while you focus on your tacos and lobsters which appears to be the ultimate compormise in the family wars.

Help: RBR's Athletic Director "Del" DalPra sent out an email the other looking for anyone able to help out with upcoming fall sports physicals. The school nurse is looking for help recording height and weight for students. The dates are Thursday, May 31 at 2:30 p.m. for boys and Thursday, June 7 at 2:30 p.m. for girls. E-mail Del is you can help out one of those days.
