5 Things You Need to Know Today in Little Silver and Oceanport: May 4

It's a good time to peel those old computer monitors off your garage floor, get your car washed for a cause and figure out what to wear to Taste of the Shore this weekend.

Ante up: I'm a firm believer that in life, nothing is free. So, as compensation for the nice weather we're praying for on Sunday for the NJ Marathon and the Red Bank Flavour Festival, we're going to have to pay up somehow out of our proverbial weather wallet. So think of today as your weather pay day, as the day begins with a few showers and the possiblity of severe storms later in the afternoon. The temperature will also spike to about 80 degrees, making for a hot and muggy afternoon and evening. Sounds like the price of sunshine on Sunday.

Pretty in pink: Little Silver businesses have embraced Riverview's Paint the Town Pink week that kicks off today. Check out all the businesses and organizations that bring out the pink in Little Pink

Techno dinos: For years, the floor of my garage served as a graveyard for desktop computers that had been quickly lapped by technology and replaced. There was that old white Gateway dinosaur and some years later, the hulking grey Dell joined it amongst the old leaves and tennis balls lying on the floor. And then last year,  I heard about the at the Little Silver Woman's Club and sprung into action. Not only did I haul the monitors and towers off the floor and lug them into the car, I even watched a YouTube video and removed the hard drives. Very satistying and it made so much room for all the other leaves and debris that collects out there. You still have time to get your act together and drop off electronics and a host of other items on Saturday. for more details and if you know what I need to do with two hard drives in a Ziploc bag, email me here.

Working at the car wash: Is your car coated in pollen (or bird poo) like mine? Head on over to the RBR Boys Lacrosse car wash on Saturday between noon and 2 p.m. at the high school. There is no charge for the wash, but donations are greatly appreciated. Refreshments will be sold as well.

Cinquo de fun-o: Girlfriends, what are you wearing to the LSPTO Tast of the Shore at the Shrewsbury Yacht Club in Oceanport? We hear it's casual, but might need to just see if there are any cute tops at The Grove. According to the PTO's Website:
