5 Things You Need to Know Today in Little Silver and Oceanport: May 3

Order some fabulous new Oceanport shmatas -- like a tye dyed t-shirt or a cute canvas bag -- and make a beeline over to the Red Bank INternational Flavour Festival this Sunday and support the effort to light up RBR's fields.

Gimme shelter: Today, according to the _National Weather Service,_ will be soggy, and they use words like "showers," "thunderstorm" and "cloudy" to describe what looks to be a not very outdoor-friendly day. Hold tight though because Friday's forecast has "sunny" mixed in with the "thunderstorm" and the chance of precipitation drops significantly.

Update your wardrobe: Looking to update youreisurewear? The PTO has an incredible selection of merchandise available -- from tye dyed tees, to canvas totes, to fleece blankets -- as long as you get your order in by May 11. If you need an order form you can contact Katie LaPorta at 732.542.1338.

Get lit: Did you know that it costs about $400,000 to light an outdoor high school sports stadium? That is not an insignificant number, which is probably why board of ed has stayed away from that type of project. But luckily, a group of parents have gotten together to form the Bucaneer Athletic Foundation, which is spearheading the lights effort that they hope will help create opportunities for the RBR community to come together. Lucky, then, that the organization was chosen to be the recipient of a charitable donation by this weekend's Red Bank Flavour Festival. We say: get out there this Sunday and support your school while noshing on yummy food and listening to great music. They really couldn't have made it any easier, no?

My kingdom for a cupcake: We know you love them, we do too. But you'll have to wait another week until is back in the kitchen. They're taking a break from their weekly in Red Bank offering this Friday and getting ready for some super-yummy treats next week for Mother's Day. And even though we doth protest, we mommies love us a good cupcake, no matter what time of the year.

Sow, what?: If you're a real gardener, like the kind that likes to get your hands dirty, you enjoy the clean up as much -- if not more -- that the planting or the pruning. You're in luck then, because there's one more chance to get in on cleaning up the Point Road School courtyard this spring on Friday, May 4 from 2 p.m. to dusk. Here's what we found on the school's Web site:
