Your Wednesday morning announcements from Little Silver-Oceanport Patch.

  • New student registration for the 2011-2012 school year is scheduled for today at Point Road School in Little Silver from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. (A-K), and 1 p.m. through 2:30 p.m. (L-Z). Registration packets may be picked up in either school, or at the Board of Education Office, or downloaded at www.littlesilverschools.org. For further information, please call 732-741-4022 ext. 1100.
  • There will be a meeting of the Red Bank Regional Board of Education tonight at 8 p.m. in the Board Conference Room of the Administration building. Click here to view the agenda.
  • Applications are being accepted for the Sal Gentile Oceanport Library Association Scholarship, which awards $500 to a high school senior residing in Oceanport who plans to further their education. In order to be considered for the scholarship, applicants must submit a high school transcript, a letter of recommendation from a subject area teacher and a typed 200-word essay on how the library (high school, local, county or other) contributed to their education. Applications are available in the Oceanport Library or through the Shore Regional guidance office. The deadline for submission is Apr. 15.
  • The Oceanport town council will hold a meeting tomorrow night at 7 p.m. in the Borough Hall municipal courtroom.
  • The Oceanport Lions Club has a scholarship available to senior students planning to further their education. Any senior high school student who resides in Oceanport, or is the son, daughter or grandchild of an Oceanport Lions Club member in good standing may apply. The recipient will be chosen based on academic achievements, school activities or services and community service. Applications are available through the school guidance office.
