Movie pickings have been slim of late so I didn't feel like I was missing anything. But just had a hankering to go...even if just for a good nap. "Snitch" starring Dwayne Johnson (a.k.a. The Rock) fit the time slot. I wore a heavier coat so I'd be toasty warm to ensure a good nap.
The story is based (I sense very loosely) on a true story where a father's son is implicated in a drug sale gets harsh under 1st time offender, drug laws.
He was caught because his "buddy" snitched on him to lower his sentence. Johnson's son, Jason, wouldn't play the snitch game and so he went away for a minimum of 10 years. Johnson, a very successful owner of a trucking business, tried all the legal steps to lower the sentence and ran into the same roadblock (as this was a federal case). Turn in others and your sentence will be reduced.
Johnson introduced his trucks to drug dealers as a viable means of transportation. Soon the lies and repercussions of his actions soon led to a web of danger for his family, himself and his company instead of easily leading the feds to an arrest and a lower sentence for his son.
Superhero Johnson, concocts a plan to nab all, gain safety for his family and will the favor of the prosecutor. Mission accomplished with lots of violence and car crashes.
