Sign of New 'Kind' of Food Business

Kind Burgers set to open soon in Fair Haven.

It's a sign of the flipping from one type of food business to another burger-flipping place of a different kind in Fair Haven.

After relocating from their Hurricane Sandy-devastated Kind Burgers business in Sea Bright to the borough, the Rumson Cafaro family is almost ready to open on the River Road spot where Le Fandy, a French bistro, formerly sat. The sign tells the story of progress.

"Sign goes up in Fair Haven," a post on the Kind Burgers Facebook page says. "We are making progress!"

Mid-April is the opening estimate Anthony Cafaro gave on the Facebook post.

There have also been signs of revamping the inside of the new burger joint that offers gluten-free options and unique and high quality meats.

Rumson owners Yvette and Anthony Cafaro told Patch not too long ago that they are thrilled to have found the place to relocate and rebuild their specialty burger business, after seeing the building they leased all washed away to Sandy. They had only been open in the Sea Bright spot for a couple months, since the end of August, before Sandy hit.

"We are very excited to bring Kind Burgers to Fair Haven where we will offer the same high quality gourmet burgers, dogs and fries with gluten-free, dairy-free and nut-free options," Yvette had said.

In opening Kind Burgers, Anthony Cafaro had told Patch that he wanted to bring a casual place where people could grab a burger to the area. The plus was catering to those with allergies so that they could indulge and not feel left out.

They have a child with allergies and were pre-disposed to feeling her pain in being left out at times.

On the menu is Angus, grass-fed Kobe beef, lamb, turkey and portobello mushroom burgers and NY-style dirty water hot dogs, organic turkey dogs and more. Vegan options are available as well.

Patch will keep you posted on the official opening.
