Monmouth Park Breezes Towards Opening Day

A recent protest filed against the track's new lease deal has been withdrawn, clearing the way to opening day on May 12.

The slight hiccup in what seemed to be a done deal for the new management to take over has been averted, just in time for opening day in less than two weeks.

According to an article on NJ.com, the Florida racetrack owner who lost out on his bid to run the Oceanport racetrack has withdrawn a complaint he had filed against the New Jersey Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association.

According to the article, John Brunetti, the owner of Hialeah racetrack in Florida, said that he would look for ways for the two racetracks to work together in the future.
