Little Silver ‘Turkey Run’ raises record funds for Lunch Break

In their most successful fundraising effort to date, The Little Silver Business & Professional Association raised over $900 to benefit Lunch Break.

This past November, the Little Silver Business & Professional Association raised over $900 to benefit Lunch Break with its annual Turkey Run. According to LSBPA president Lori Saybolt, it was their biggest fundraiser for the program yet.

"People love to give money [to the Turkey Run] because it benefits something close to home," says LSBPA board member Liz Gearon, who coordinated the association's involvement in the program with event planner Erica Melone.

The Turkey Run, now in its third year, helps provide needy families in the area with Thanksgiving dinner. The Little Silver PTO collects turkeys with the LSBPA, who provide money for trimmings and more. Local businesses participate in the program by offering their customers a paper turkey they can purchase for a dollar to benefit Lunch Break.
