Located in both Rumson and Oakhurst, has been a family favorite for years. I started going to the Oakhurst location while I was attending Monmouth University. I would often meet family and friends there for lunch or on a Sunday morning.
The main attraction of Brennan's is the wide selection of speciality sandwiches that they have available with your choice of bread or wrap. My two favorite sandwiches are the # 8 with smoked turkey, roasted garlic, swiss cheese, and sundried tomato mayo, and the # 13 with proscuitto, fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers, lettuce, tomato, oil and vinegar. Both sandwiches are delicious in their own special way.
Other notable mentions – my brother enjoys the # 2 cappacola, salami, provolone, pepperoni, lettuce, tomato, oil and vinegar, while my mother loves the # 26 with grilled chicken, monterey jack cheese, black bean and corn salsa, lettuce, and lime cilantro dressing. Every sandwich is unique, but they have a wide variety of other breakfast and lunch options as well.
Brennan’s offers breakfast sandwiches and wraps, omelets, eggs, and daily specials while serving a variety of coffee brewed daily. They also make salads and have an entire cold case devoted to prepared foods like pasta salad, potato salad, grilled chicken, chicken parmesan, broccoli rabe, and much more.
I can contest that the Caesar and Southwestern salads are delicious, while my mom often enjoys the Oriental salad. I usually also get some pasta salad, which usually is a variation of olive oil and pesto with fresh tomatoes and mozzarella, and you really can’t go wrong there. No matter how many times over the years I have gone to Brennan’s for breakfast or lunch, or even an early “to go” dinner, I always leave full and smiling. They also deliver, perfect for those long days at work.
