Jeff Daniels at Monmouth University's Pollak Theatre

From monmouth.edu/arts:

"Actor, playwright, filmmaker, and theater founder, Jeff Daniels reveals to the public at large what audiences at his annual sold-out concerts at the Purple Rose Theatre in Michigan already knew—he is not an actor who sings but an accomplished singer/songwriter whose musical talent does not require the support of his acting. He has been invited on stage to perform a few songs with legends Lyle Lovett, John Hiatt, and Guy Clark during their 'Songwriters' tour and has been joined on stage by his pal, Keb Mo'. Performing before a live audience, Daniels radiates self-effacing warmth and a sparkling sense of humor. Offering a surprising combination of delicate blues guitar-playing and quirky, indelicate comedy, Daniels puts on one helluva smart and funny show. He offers a rich array of songs with laugh-out-loud humor to those with quiet and poignant lyrics. His honest, sincere, and relatable approach to the songs reminds us of our own lives, hopes, and dreams."
