Volunteers, Items Needed Saturday at Markham Place School

Donations for those who suffered severe hurricane damage will be collected at the school Nov. 3 from noon to 3 p.m.

Volunteers are quickly aligning resources to help neighbors in Little Silver who were severly affected by Hurricane Sandy.

A collection will be held in the Markham PLace School gymnasium on Saturday, Nov. 3 from noon to 3 p.m. for items to help families clean up storm damaged homes.

According to organizer Michelle Lane, donations needed include:

  • plastic bins,
  • boxes,
  • Sharpie markers,
  • contractor grade trash bags,
  • paper towels,
  • work or latex gloves,
  • masking tape,
  • non-perishable food items.

Lane says that "manpower" is also greatly needed.

Those Little Silver residents who need items being donated are strongly encouraged to come by and pick them up between noon and 3 p.m., says Lane.

If you or someone you know who lives in Little Silver was severly affected by the hurricane and needs assistance, contact Lane at 848-218-1165 or jmca138@verizon.net.
