Treasure Abound at Oceanport's Annual Garage Sale

Garages around Oceanport will be open for business this Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 1 and 2, as residents take to their driveways to hock their wares as part of the annual borough-wide garage sale.

Postponed last weekend due to rain in the forecast, the National Weather Service is again predicting a 60 percent threat of thunderstorms Saturday, but Borough Clerk Kim Jungfer said Friday afternoon that the sale will go on this weekend, regardless.

"Last weekend they said there was going to be a 60 to 70 percent chance of rain and we got barely anything," said Jungfer.

More than 130 households have signed up with the borough to participate in this weekend's sale. A printable copy of all participating addresses has been provided by the borough, as well as a nifty Google map which depicts each sale with a pinpoint.
