SPCA Taking Donations For Abused Pit Bull

The dog was dumped at an Eatontown apartment complex on Jan. 6.

An abused pit bull that was dumped at an Eatontown apartment complex is being cared for a the Monmouth SPCA.

The pit bull, named Danny, is not even one years old, and was found in the rear of the Stony Brook Apartment complex, "covered from head to toe with mange (and) undernourished," according to Victor “Buddy” Amato, chief law enforcement officer for the Monmouth County SPCA.

Danny was taken to the Red Bank Veterinary Hospital on Hance Avenue in Tinton Falls on Tuesday for emergency treatment, Amato said.

A post on the Red Bank Veterinary Hospital's Facebook  page stated that Danny was transferred to the Monmouth County SPCA on Wednesday morning for ongoing medical care.

"Any donations to assist him(monetary, toys, etc.) can be sent to them at the following address," the message states.
