RBR Classes of '83 & '84 to Reunite

What was your favorite song or movie of the 80s? Do you know where Flashdance was filmed? Tell us.

They're going back to the Great 80s school days and looking ahead to an April reunion.

The Red Bank Regional High School classes of 1983 and '84 are having a reunion on April 5. Classmates announced it on Patch. The date is set and they're looking for their fellow RBR pals.

A reunion website has been set up as a place where RBR alumni of the two classes can connect, key into reunion plans, share information about missing classmates and sign up for the party.

It was a Flashdancin' time of McDonald's Chicken McNuggets and the music of David Bowie, Bob Seger, Boy George, Donna Summer, Eurythmics, Michael Jackson and The Police.

Among the hit shows for which people parked themselves in front of the TV were those how-the-other-half-lives prime time soaps Dynasty and Dallas. The box office blockbusters at the movies were Risky Business, Stayin' Alive, Terms of Endearment, Flashdance and Return of the Jedi was number one.

The number one song of 1983 was Every Breath You Take by The Police. Michael Jackson's Billie Jean wasn't far behind, and neither was Flashdance. While you're reminiscing, 80s people, who knows where Flashdance was filmed? Take a guess in the comments section. Come on!

And that's just 1983. The class aficionados have connected people with a reminder of the times by posting YouTube Counting Down the 80s videos for each year. They are attached here.

The main event will be held at The Downtown in Red Bank from 7 to 10 p.m. on April 5. The $69 admission fee covers open bar, appetizers, a pasta/salad station, dessert, coffee, tea and gratuity.

Classes of 1983 and 1984 are invited to join the website by clicking here.
