Little Silver Scarecrows: Creepy, Kooky, Sometimes Super Spooky

Winners on the first annual event will be announced at Sunday's Halloween parade.

Patch has been given an honor that those celebrities could only dream of: we get to pick the winners of Little Silver Girl Scout Troop 72's First Annual Scarecrow Contest.

Twenty-eight scarecrows cropped up all over town last weekend, and the top three entries will be announced at the annual Halloween Parade on Sunday, Oct. 28.

Participants had until Oct. 22 to come up with the spookiest, funniest or most clever scarecrow theme. Patch's trusty sidekick and photographer Nicole Martin came along for the tour and we were wow'd by the jaunty pirate and cowboy crows, the Carmen Miranda crow with the grapes cascading from her headscarf and the serial killer crows that looked like they wanted to take us out right there on the front yard.

Registration was $10 per entry and each scarecrow received a weatherproof  registration card.

See you at the parade!
