Monmouth Medical Center Announces Medical and Dental Staff Scholarship Winners

Monmouth Medical Center, a Barnabas Health facility, recently announced the winners for the 20th Annual Medical and Dental Staff Scholarship awards.

Introduced at Monmouth in 1993, the Medical and Dental Staff Scholarship awards are available for children or dependents of full-time Monmouth Medical Center employees. In 2013, the combined awarded scholarships funded through Monmouth’s Medical and Dental Staff totaled $18,000. Recipients are selected by a scholarship committee based on the student’s accomplishments, grade scores, financial need and community involvement.

The 2013 scholarship recipients include Freehold Township High School graduate Deanna Johnson, Long Branch High School graduates Curtis Gunter and Sara Morales, Manasquan High School graduate Hannah DiBernardo, and Middletown High School North graduate Christopher Stark.

“The scholarship program began when the Medical Staff decided they wanted to do something for the full-time employees of Monmouth Medical Center that would show them, and the community, that they appreciate the help and care they provide for their patients when they are hospitalized,” said Connie Bunting, CPMSM, CPCS, manager of the Medical Staff Office at Monmouth Medical Center.
