"Herb of the Month" - Workshop
"From the Sacred to the Scientific"

January: Mint 

A monthly exploration of the scientific underpinnings of the sacred, mystical, and medicinal uses of herbs. We will go much further into historical uses, the creation of herbal preparations, growing tips and so much more!
In this workshop we each will be creating our own mint infused oil and salve to take home. Mint oil is great to use as a massage oil, a skin and scalp moisturizer, and as a salve it will sooth rashes, bites, and chapped lips.

John de la Parra is a certified horticulturist and chemistry professor. He lectures and conducts organic, inorganic, and biochemistry labs for pre-med and nursing students, always striving to emphasize the practical and real-life implications of scientific knowledge.
