Resolve To Explore the Arts in the New Year

Are you ready to get your imagination moving in the New Year? Discover a new talent? Rediscover a past passion? Well, the time is now because registration is open at the Middletown Arts Center for its Winter Arts programming. Make 2013 the year to explore the arts!

Last year left many families little or no time to spend together, and some of us are still busy getting back into the groove of school, work and home, but the staff of the Middletown Arts Center wants you to know that their 23,000 square-foot arts facility is available to you throughout the winter for a little R&R and entertainment. So, when the weather outside is frightful, join them inside for an exciting lineup of classes and special events.

Discover your inner artist, musician or dancer. De-stress with a revitalized exercise routine that includes Tai Chi, Zumba, Yoga, Hula Hooping, authentic Argentine tango, Irish-step or ballroom dance. Tire the kids out with some high energy DoOdle Dude cartooning and animation, musical theatre fun, puppetry, fashion design, guitar, all styles of dance classes for boys and girls, painting parties, kiddie rock concerts, music lessons with Miss Sherri, and so much more!

For individuals and families in need of financial assistance due to Sandy, please contact Maggie O’Brien, the MAC’s Executive Director, at 732-706-4100 and she’ll discuss opportunities for discounted  programming. MAC members also receive discounts on classes and camps throughout the year.

The Middletown Arts Center is conveniently located next to the Middletown Train Station on 36 Church Street and features modern art studios, a 250-seat theatre with state-of-the-art sound and lighting system, a professional dance studio, and a spacious exhibition gallery. Whether a beginner or amateur artist, dancer or musician, you’ll enjoy carving out time for the arts at the MAC.

Call for Artists and Teachers

If you’re an artist or educator and would like to join the Middletown Arts Center’s team, contact Maggie O’Brien at 732-706-4100 for more information or drop off your resume and fill out an application at 36 Church Street, Middletown, NJ. The MAC is currently looking to expand its programing by offering classes in adult crafts such as jewelry, beading, fiber and photography, as well as children’s classes in film making, animation, advanced art and drawing, and arts and crafts.
