Little Silver Regular Borough Council Meeting
MONDAY, FEB. 6 On the agenda at borough hall tonight: Town board of education members are expected to talk about the proposed $750,000 bond referendum to construct two classrooms for a full day kindergarten program, which will go before voters at a special vote on March 13. Council may also be discussing who will fill the town's municipal prosecutor position as former Fair Haven Mayor Michael Halfacre has left to head the New Jersey Department of Alcohol Beverage Control.
Preschool Open House at Saint James School
TUESDAY, FEB. 7 According to the Red Bank school, it's already time to start thinking about preschool for the fall of 2012. School officials are presenting a free hour session for preschool children ages 2 through 5 which will provide activities, crafts, and story time. Reservations are required, as space is limited. Oceanport Rec Commission and Planning Board to Meet
WEDNESDAY, FEB. 8 Find out what's in the works for borough fun and become an active part of it at the Oceanport Rec Commission meeting, 7:30 p.m. at the Old Wharf House. For those interested in zoning and planning in Oceanport, drop by borough hall at 7:30 p.m. for the Planning Board meeting.
Little Silver and Oceanport Board of Education Meetings
THURSDAY, FEB. 9 The upcoming full-day kindergarten referendum and reports from both Little Silver public schools will be discussed at the Board of Education meeting at 7:30 p.m. in the Markham Place School library. In Oceanport, a vote on moving school elections is expected during the 7 p.m. meeting at Maple Place School, and consolidation and sharing services with nearby districts will likely continue to be hot topics for debate.
Senior Class Bake/Candy Sale and Valentine's Dance at RBR
FRIDAY, FEB. 10 Students at Red Bank Regional High School will celebrate Valentine's Day with two fundraisers at the end of the week, a bake sale and a dance. Heart-shaped cookies and lollypops and the like will be available for purchase from 2:30 p.m. to 3:15 in the A Corridor of RBR. "Cupid's Bash," a formal dance, will be held in the cafeteria between 6:30 and 10:30 p.m.
