More than 10,000 were without power as 50-mph wind gusts hit Central New Jersey and the Jersey Shore Friday morning.
As of 8:36 a.m., some 2,000 households were without power in Howell, according to the JCP&L power outage. In Freehold Township, 1,729 lost electricity, as did 441 in Freehold Borough. Middletown had some 1,466 without power and over 500 customers in Marlboro and 116 customers in Shrewsbury Borough were in the dark.
