Strawberry Festival Comes to Oceanport on Friday
The scaled-down annual event will feature family-friendly activities like a moon walk, face painting and the chance to dunk your school principal.
The Oceanport Lions are bringing a night of old-fashioned family fun to town on Friday with the annual Strawberry Festival.
The event, which runs from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Maple Place School, will feature lots of old time favorites like the moon walk, face painting and newly-hatched baby chicks. We're pretty sure the line will be long at the dunk tank, where the two school principals and district superintendent are among who have volunteered to brave the tank.
New this year are a DJ, a free golf lesson, a rock wall and basketball shoot. There are new menu items and there will be a musical presentation by Oceanport students. And don't forget the strawberries - with shortcake and ice cream, of course.
The raffle has some tempting prizes like an iPad, a Kindle Fire and two tickets to a Yankees-Red Sox game later this season.
Look for the Patch table and come over to say "Hi" and get some Patch swag in return for your effort.
