Romney to Make Fundraising Stops in Lakewood, Rumson Today

Hundreds expected at afternoon event at Lake Terrace Hall for the likely GOP nominee for president

Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney will make two fundraising stops in New Jersey today.

Romney, the former governor of Massachusetts, will be in Lakewood this afternoon for a $1,000-per-plate reception at Lake Terrace Hall, according to NJ.com. Those who wish closer access can pay $10,000 for a VIP photo reception and $25,000 for a roundtable with the likely GOP nominee.

This evening Romney will attend a dinner at the Rumson home of Lewis M. Eisenberg, with guests paying an undisclosed contribution, according to APP.com

Ocean County Republican Chairman George Gilmore, a delegate to the GOP National Convention, and attorney Larry Bathgate will host the Lakewood fundraiser, which NJ.com reports will be attended by former Gov. Tom Kean, Sen. Tom Kean Jr. (R-Union) and Sen. James Holzapfel (R-Ocean), among hundreds of others.

Bathgate told App.com that Republicans aim to raise about $2 million from the two fundraisers.

Funny that Romney comes to New Jersey when he know Christie will be out of the state. Even he doesn't want to be around him.

These are the same events -almost to the exact detail- of the events which preceded the fall of the Roman Empire. People voted their taxes back into their own pockets, the upper class mitigated their responsibility through back room deals, and the currency that propped everything up simply evaporated. Throw into the mix an overextended military and a catastrophic crop loss... and you have the worst case scenario. Hold on to your hats.

When they discovered the tax incentives to simply move the whole shebang to Mexico they did. When they saved even more money by moving to China they did that as well. At the same time they union busted by turning the other cheek to scab non union labor. Don't even mention that rat B. Reagan. He fired our air-controllers. Were they striking for health benefits or wage increments - NO they were striking for operable equipment. The legacy of Reagans shenanigans can be seen on our disreparable infrastructure. When Reagan let out the message to corporate Amerika (sic) that the unions could be busted he became the last Republicrat I would ever cast a vote for. You think Romney will do LESS damage? Have you seen any of his trip overseas? Every time that man opens his mouth he puts his foot in it! He will definitely do more damage as far as Foreign policy goes. And why do the wealthy always gripe about paying their fair share of taxes? If they really cared about the problems this country is having and paying a little more would help the greater good, why would they mind. Oh that's right because the biggest problem this country has is GREED!!! How much is enough? I don't think they will go broke, but if I have to pay more I might! So sick of how polarized this nation has become between the haves and have nots. Most of the very rich don't really care about this country, just about lining their own pockets. I lost my job and I certainly don't blame Obama. I blame the fact that my chosen field has just decided it's better to outsource the work to cheap labor in India (read: Corporate greed). Mind you they don't charge any less for the product, they just make larger profits because too much is never enough and making sure that Americans have jobs is not important at all.

Right now, it is the forty - fifty somethings who are hard hit - too young to retire too old for rehire. . The "greatest" generation think they are immune - they aren't. Was Romney bowing to the Saudi's or hob nobbing with Chavez? Or apologizing for our country on foreign land to dictators? What did I miss? Did Romneys wife spend millions of dollars like Michelle Obama to bring her 26 servants, family and personal grommers with her on my dime? Hundreds of millions for Michelle Obama to travel?

You lost your job? The Cost Of Obama's Stimulus Plan: $312,500 Per Job.
Did you get any of this money? No but you, your children, your grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren will have to pay this back if they can or they will be working on farms for China.

So many feel defeated lost jobs, lost homes and the like.. They turn to a government "pay check" and stop trying.... It's so easy to collect from Uncle Sam and expect everyone else to pay your way these days...

Why wouldn't people vote for Obama when 100 million citizens and non citizens are getting a pay check from him for not working?

I beg you do your homework and know the facts before you judge Romney.

Oh and every time Obama or his minions open their mouths they don't put their feet in? Want to talk about his latest false ad that he claims no responsibility for by hiding behind "it's a Super Pac, not me". It's even been bashed by his own party memebers.

How about, "you didn't build that"? What did Romney say in London that was offensive. That he was concerned about security? Big deal. And thin skinned Cameron attacked right back...again so what. No real harm done.

After 30 years i lost my job too... avery good Wall Street one at that. I didn't sit around and collect unemployment and food stamps nor welfare. I took a job far below what I was used to doing and I paid my bills with my earned money...not your tax dollars. If you have to flip burgers..you flip them.

If you owned a business and were savvy, you would outsource too. Maybe you ought to talk to overpaid union workers who think they deserve $50.00+ an hour to screw bumpers on autos. Or teachers with lifetime tenure. Or state workers who are retired with free healtcare benefits for life.( I know more than one)

Response to beachlover......I directly blame the POTUS & Reid, Pelosi and many (not all) Dems for the lousy polarized state of this country. By the mere tone and accusations made it is apparent you lay the blame at the doorstep of corporations and those who have EARNED their wealth. I simply disagree knowing that whatever I have I have worked very hard for and so did my parents and I earnestly resent the have nots demanding their fair share of what I have. I love my country. I certainly pay my fair share in taxes. I give to the charities of my choice including my own church. All I expect is leadership in this country that is for the good of the country and ALL it's people.......not those who feel slighted by whomever/whatever. This is a very slippery slope we are heading down. Not good.

You blame the dems for the polarization? Oh please. Both sides are guilty of that. Both are guilty of putting their party's spin on things. They all lie! What I am saying is that we have a lot of selfish greedy people in this country who only care about what is in their pocket. And the wealthy are the ones who get all the tax breaks so, no they do not pay the same percentage of taxes that your average citizen pays, so they do not pay their fair share. If you expect leadership that is good for everyone, then you shouldn't vote Republican, because they only take care of the wealthy not average hard working American. I have worked my entire adult life and right now I can't find a job that pays anywhere near what I am making and I can't really afford to live on much less than that. Romney will not fix anything. Obama has tried, but the other side won't even listen or try to compromise. It's their way or the highway. Talk about stubborn! Bottom line is no matter which side you agree with, left or right, they need to start working together to make things better. We are in a bad place right now, but I know that eventually it will get better. Call me an optimist. I don't hate all republicans and I don't love all democrats, but I certainly don't want to vote for a party that won't do anything for me.

He took out the sonofabiotch that attacked those buildings for which your "party" refuse to give credit. Ole "smoke em out" never was able to accomplish this. Obama ordered the SEALS operation that killed Bin Laden. He set in place the beginnings of healthcare that you might need one day. He put Israel in its place before another world war, and reigned in Wall Street traitors getting back ALL of the monies given. He actively put in place the Oil pollution act in the wake of one percent oilers like BP, he pushed through a tax credit for hybrid cars. He ordered EPA to regulate carbon emissions taking steps to improve our environment & address our energy needs! He did NOT cave to the drill baby drill crew because he understood the implications on environment even though it would have been a no-brainer to create jobs. He oversaw a 50% decrease in cost of prescription drugs for seniors & provided active combat troops with better body armor. He endorsed an infrastructure renewal bill that creates jobs, I could go on, but format will not allow.

Part One

Those who understand that America is now on the wrong track cannot reasonably vote for Obama in November, because he is absolutely unwilling to change, perhaps even ideologically incapable of changing, course. Evidence abounds.

First, consider his disastrous economic record and his rejection of any semblance of a course change. He and his economic advisers told us his stimulus would keep unemployment below 8 percent. It didn't. He didn't consider for a second that his policies exacerbated the economic crisis.

He blamed Bush and said that if anything, he — Obama — hadn't spent enough. He demanded more stimulus packages — high-speed rail, other infrastructure, American Jobs Act. He continued to grow government in a wide variety of areas; things continued to get worse. No sign of any significant economic recovery; we had the worst recovery in 50 years. No sign of unemployment relief. He didn't change course.

Response to beachlover.......yes, I blame the current administration for 99% of the polarization of this country. My opinion. And since the last time I looked, we still had freedom of speech. II certainly wish you the best of luck in securing employment. However, I contend that the nanny state being created by this administration and the willingness of the people to accept and demand entitlements.....99 wks unemployment, massive food stamp increase, out of control sending to name a few.....well, it is destroying the direction of this country. Throw into the mix the constant barrage of finger pointing, blaming everyone and everything from GWB to the weather .... The never ending demonization of business, success and wealth coupled with the overreach of government and let us not forget the very unfortunate racial divide that is so glaringly obvious and tearing this country apart. Those are just a few of President Obama's accomplishments as I see them. And let us not forget his penchant for the good life and his celebrity in chief status. Oh....one last thing....transparency! The only thing he has shown in the way of transparency is helping himself and his agenda. And quite frankly the only thing I see on the table that President Obama offers is more taxation.....and you obviously think that is the answer.
