Red Bank Regional Grads Look Forward to Bright Future

Charlie Fox said he's not in a position to dole out advice. After all, he said, he's only a high school graduate and he and his fellow graduates are on the cusp of something much greater: the unknown.
At Red Bank Regional High School's 2012 commencement Friday night, the class's Salutatorian focused his speech on what he and his classmates learned through their four years at the school, lessons that will help guide their lives as they take that next step, he said.
What Fox and the other 250 graduates who received diplomas Friday learned is how to be confident, he said, to take challenges head on. They've also learned how to listen, a tool that has helped break down barriers and forge friendship among a student base that draws students from Red Bank, Little Silver, Shrewsbury and beyond with its performing arts program.
"Being in a classroom for several hours a day, whether you like it or not," Fox said. "Forces you to listen to others."
With these tools, Fox said, he and his fellow graduates are ready for the future, whatever it might bring.
