Red Bank Catholic's dream season is over.
Despite steamrolling Shore Conference competition en route to a 10-0 record, the Casey's are home without a berth in the NJSIAA Non-Public Group 3 final after being dominated Saturday by St. Joseph Regional of Montvale, 42-7.
St. Joseph, the top-ranked team in New Jersey, held RBC to just 65 total yards and four first downs in the semifinal game played in Montvale, according to All Shore Media.
The Caseys, who had averaged 38 points a game while building its previously undefeated record, had no answer for Joe's defensive front or its many offensive weapons, including junior running back and kicker Mark Fossati and quarterback Spencer Aukamp. The Green Knights amassed 348 total yards in the game.
"Definitely their speed was a difference," RBC lineman Josh Klecko told All Shore Media. Their skill guys are really good. They're insane — a whole different level."
